I mentioned previously that most of us cannot understand why bad things happen to good people. In fact, it is usually the reason people exclaim: “There is no God!” Fair enough. But what if I could give you a plausible reason as to why those nasty things happen? Well … you will need to take a seat, and a nice deep breath. Drum roll please …!! You planned for those things to happen – the good, the bad and the ugly!! Yep, you even planned for your stepmother to whack you with a wooden spoon for the things your sister did! Well, not in that much detail, but you did plan to have your evil stepmother [or replace with other crazed human] in your life. It’s all about the mission you wished to conquer in this game called Life.
I know, in my last post I promised I would talk about how brave you are in making and planning those missions, especially if it involved your step-mother whacking you, but I do need to back up a bit. I’m getting way ahead of myself. Love a good mission as I do, I need you to know a little about a neat process called reincarnation before we go much further. Remember when I described incarnation as meaning “in the flesh”? Well literally “re”-incarnation means going back in the flesh. Eeeww! You love it actually as it allows you to swing by planet Earth every now and then to have a shot at your latest endeavour. The reason you do it is to better your good “self”.
Evidence that reincarnation may be a reality, has come to our attention via our good friends the hypnotherapists. People have been taken on journeys via hypnotherapy to check out who they were in past lives. There, they often discover things that happened to them which is presently causing them some grief in this lifetime. For instance, you may be suffering from a pain in your back that no one can resolve. You have some hypnotherapy and are taken to a past life showing you that you were in the French Foreign Legion in the late 1800’s and were poked really hard in the back by your buddy’s out of control bayonet. There is evidence that remembering past events like these have in fact cured people’s ailments. This gives us some indication that there just might be something really cool in exploring the notion of past lives being a reality. You’re doing it now aren’t you? You are having a little think about the journeys that you personally might have been on *wink*. Do you have an unexplained affinity for a food, place or culture? It may just be an imprint of a past life that you wanted to remain with you. Fun!
To recap then. If you have reincarnated, it follows you have lived before. After your time is done being in a physical body, you return to spirit to regroup, take a rest, (it’s rough going on Earth … nah, you don’t say?) have a natter about your last mission, have a bit of a gossip about who’s doing what lately, and then make grand plans for your next life. Then off you go again… weeeeeeeee…..!!!
It should figure that your mode of transportation to the next mission is via childbirth, and, you won’t understand this right now, but … wait for it … you chose your parents! Yes, read it again. You. Chose. Your. Parents! For some of you that’s a horrifying thought and you are wondering what the hell is wrong with you. Trust me, it’s all good, but I’ll get to that more fully in a later post. The interesting thing is that after we are born, we are still very connected to spirit and we remain that way for a few years until we are conditioned to obey the ridiculous rules of living on planet Earth dished up by “well-meaning” adults. I know I’m heading off on a tangent here, but I have to stick in an extra two cents worth and remind you that I think rules are for idiots (more on that another time).
This strong connection to our energetic selves whilst we’re young, has come to light in cases where very young children, of around two or three years of age spontaneously start talking about something completely bizarre, like: “My other mummy has curly hair”, or “I like my other house better” and other weird things which are completely inexplicable to their stunned parents. Naturally, those parents think that their babies are playing make believe. But in cases where the “game” the child is playing becomes persistent, and where the child is referring to adult matters they could not possibly know about, or even understand given their age, parents have taken the next step and investigated the issue further. In these instances, they take what their child has said and have connected the facts to those of a person having passed away. It could be a relative or a stranger. All information gathered then points to the distinct probability of the child being a reincarnation of said passed away person. These young children, for some reason, appear to remember more clearly their connection to the other realms. It is not an unusual phenomenon and is widely reported. For instance, Carol Bowman published a book called Children’s Past lives in 1997, which discusses many astounding case studies. It’s worth a read if you’re interested.
Though there are many, there is one extraordinary story that I need to tell you about. James Leininger was at the time a two-year-old, appearing on all fronts to be a regular little boy who spent his time engrossed in playing with his toy planes. His parents began to become concerned when he would more frequently wake in the night screaming in terror: “Plane on fire! Little man can’t get out.” Subsequent to James explaining complex and unusual parts of a war plane to her, his mother Andrea speculated that perhaps he was a World War II fighter pilot in a former life. She mentioned this to her husband Bruce, who, being a God-fearing man, thought her suggestion was a lot of nonsense. One day his skeptical father asked James who the “little man” was. James told his father matter-of-factly that the “little man” was him, and then made a disgusted face whilst telling his father that his plane was shot down by the Japanese. His father wasn’t at all convinced by this and upon further questioning, James told his father that he was flying a Corsair plane that was launched from a boat called the Natoma.
Upon investigation, his father was surprised to learn that the Natoma Bay was in fact a World War II aircraft carrier and James even correctly identified on a map where his plane was shot down. After further extensive verification (including discussion with surviving war veterans who could validate the information), Bruce accepted the likelihood that little James was in fact James Huston Jnr whose plane was shot in the engine and caught fire, exactly as described by two-year-old James. I need to mention here that Bruce struggled greatly with reconciling this discovery against his strong religious background. This story has many awesome facts that, by all accounts, appear not be co-incidental. Please do look this up, you’ll get tingles.
These stories also suggest to us that in certain cases, past lives can have an impact on this lifetime. They say that young children remain connected to the other realm up until about age four or five until such time as us older spoiled sports ruin it for them and make them live in our reality. So, parents, teachers and guardians, pay attention to the small children in your charge when they say interesting things. You might learn something fascinating about them, which in, turn could help them later as they tackle this lifetime.
Given that “you’re not from’round ‘ere”, at the very core of your being you remain you, your beautiful “self”. However, your past lives can and probably do affect your current human experience … who were you?

Very interesting and entertaining read Virginia. Many decades ago (i’m 67) I went with a friend to someone who could tell you about your past lives. How she did this I have no idea, but heck I was along for the ride with my friend anyway so decided to have her read me too. At the time I was experiencing a lot of guilt over my recent divorce and also a medical condition that prevented me from having children. My inner self (ego) convinced me i must be a very bad person and in a previous life did something terrible and now karma was catching up with me. None of this was shared with the “reader.” Anyway, during my reading she told me that way back when I was married to the Roman soldier who put the sword in the side of Jesus as he was hanging on the cross. Wow, I knew it was bad, but this was off the charts bad. LOL She added that i have carried around the guilt for centuries and many lifetimes. At the time i laughed it off. True or not, after that day every time guilt raised its ugly head within me, the memory of that reading would replace the guilt with gentle laughter. So in that regard, It was very helpful. : )
Yes, fascinating isn’t is Lana? Guilt is a heavy emotion to have carried with you for all those lifetimes. I hope at least from that reading that you have been able to forgive yourself of any guilt and feel lighter and freer in doing so. 🙂
Lovely post Virginia! 🙂
Thank-you Richard 🙂
I enjoyed this post Virginia. Children are indeed connected to ‘Source’ but quickly learn that adults don’t want to hear such ‘nonsense’. Thankfully, more of us are expanding enough to appreciate once again the things we ‘grew out of’. Keep posting!
Thanks for the comment Rick. Yes, let’s all remember who we are 🙂
