Money. It’s necessary. It affects every area of our lives in some fashion. And it’s a need that we all want fulfilled. Some even say it makes the world go ’round. Now that’s some power!
Money buys us choices and therefore gives us freedom. The freedom to do as we please. That’s why we think money makes us happy. To a certain extent this is true.
Whether you’re in business for yourself or whether you earn your income as an employee, it’s likely that you want more money.
The question everyone asks is “how do I get more?”
In the words of many entrepreneurs and business leaders, the words ‘mindset’ and ‘strategies’ are often bandied around as being the answers. Good words, if you have the tools to use them.
I’ll give you the simple answer. To get more money and then keep it, all centres squarely in how you feel about your relationship with money. Yes, like everything else in life, this is a relationship issue and you will find solutions in looking at the way you feel.
You love to have money therefore you might think you and money are in a loving relationship with each other, but you might be surprised. And before you get all righteous …
the love of money is a good thing
… if you truly feel it at all levels of your being. Your love for money is a conscious thought. You are experiencing the thought of I’d love to have more money, it would make my life so much better and that would feel good.
However, you also have unconscious thoughts.
Unconscious thoughts tend to be of the negative variety. For instance, you might be envious of the person with the new car. Your father might have had a gambling habit. You might feel that displays of wealth in front of those who have less than you make you feel guilty.
Some people are even of the belief that to want money lacks virtue, and that to be a truly spiritual and upstanding person you need to relinquish all material things. The notion that you are not a virtuous person for wanting money stems from an aversion to be a greedy person. Wanting money for fun and freedom is one thing. Becoming attached to money and material objects as your identity is an entirely different story based in fear, and warrants an entirely separate article.
Money, of itself, is neither a good thing nor a bad thing. It’s just money. Your past experiences with it regarding how people have used it, are what form your beliefs surrounding it.
Your beliefs are thoughts. Thoughts are energy that translate into feelings. Money, like everything else is too, just energy.
In energetic terms. Like attracts like. If you say you want money, but have negative thoughts and feelings about it, like the subconscious ones I referred to above, you are resisting it. Your inadvertent negativity sets up a resistance to the experience of money flowing to you.
An example I’ve heard of often, is where people have won millions in the lottery who end up with less than before their win. It doesn’t seem logical, but until you understand how powerful your feelings can affect your physical experiences in this life, you will remain in the same energetic patterns until you make a shift. This is a perfect example of how …
negative feelings can remove money from your experience
…just a swiftly as it came into your experience.
Your good-feeling thoughts toward all aspects of money is the key to drawing more money into your experience. Period.
Self-awareness is the key how you are thinking. However, you don’t know what you don’t know and that’s why the beliefs that are creating resistance for you are called unconscious beliefs. Unconscious beliefs are usually limiting and are silent powerhouses.
Whether you are wanting to create a successful business or wanting to negotiate a pay increase, the way you feel about money from both a conscious and subconscious perspective will affect how quickly you will achieve your goals. Monitoring our conscious beliefs and feelings surrounding those beliefs are a great start. But it’s the unconscious beliefs that need to be embraced.
Your prime goal in this life is to feel good.
The rest follows.
